What Is at the Table?

What Is at the Table?

June 26, 2025

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. Psalm 23:5 NIV

Isn’t it great to receive an invitation to dinner and great conversation and friendship with someone wonderful? If you are like me, when you discover that the meal includes some of the best foods ever, things that make your mouth water with anticipation, it’s a perfect experience.

Jesus invites us to His table. When we come, beginning our tremendous life with Him through faith in what He did through His cross and resurrection, what we receive is so fulfilling! It lasts forever!

We receive forgiveness of our sins. They are gone, and we are reconciled to the One who made us and loves us most.

We have a new identity as a child of God. We are adopted into God's family and become His children. This wonderful new identity surpasses our gender, our nationality, every role we have, any title or position, any other association. THIS is who we are.

We have eternal life with God, not just in heaven, but it starts the moment we put our faith in Jesus.

We have a forever King Jesus, whom we follow. He gives us constant access to all we need. He gives us the Holy Spirit as a guide, comforter, and source of power. This gift empowers believers to live lives pleasing to God and fulfilling to us.

We are invited into a lifetime of transformation. The Holy Spirit begins to work in our hearts, shaping our thoughts and actions. We become increasingly like Jesus. This positively impacts our choices, our relationships, and ultimately upgrades our lives. As Jesus makes life better, we get better at life.

We get peace and joy that transcends the circumstances around us. Jesus promised this and they are part of the fruit of the Spirit, a primary tool for transformation.

We get an ongoing personal relationship with God built on love, trust, and communication. We can be as close as we want to be. We have nothing to prove and nothing to fear.

  • This is what is served at the table of the Lord! It is what we celebrate every single time. Don’t miss anything Jesus sacrificed to give you. Ask Him to help you in any area where you see that you are not enjoying what He offers.
